The Mauritshuis has contributed more than 500 images of Dutch and Flemish paintings from their collection to the Artstor Digital Library. The selection includes the most beloved paintings from this repository including Jan Vermeer’s Girl with Pearl Earring, his View of Delft, and The Goldfinch by Carel Fabritius.

The Mauritshuis is home to the very best of Dutch Golden Age painting. More than two hundred key works by Dutch and Flemish artists are exhibited in the intimate rooms of this seventeenth-century mansion in The Hague, ranging from such masterpieces as The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp by Rembrandt, and The Bull by Paulus Potter, to genre paintings by Jan Steen, landscapes by Jacob van Ruisdael, still lifes by Adriaen Coorte, and portraits by Rubens. The entire collection includes more than 800 works.

The Mauritshuis was built in the mid 17th century after the design of architect Pieter Post as a home for count Johan Maurits van Nassau-Siegen. The core of the collection was established by stadtholder Prince William V, the sovereign of the United Province of the Netherlands.
